We believe that a beautiful custom, Artist Line or Vault recreation can not merely be manufactured with a machine, it must be crafted with hand tools, just like they did in the old days.

Whilst we would love to do it all with hand tools, in todays world, this just isn't possible without waiting many months and curating a small fortune for a single instument, we had to find a compromise.

 

As such, we use a CNC router to cut the basic shapes and form for our bodies and necks to ensure that the areas that require the utmost precision are perfect in their operation, and that is it. Contouring work, carving, profiling and sanding is done by hand with traditional, unpowered tools.

 

One of the defining features of a beautiful vintage guitar, or any guitar for that matter, is their beautifully resonant acoustic, unplugged sound. If it sounds phenomenal unplugged, it will blow minds amplified. This is the very basis for all our instruments, and something that they do not leave our custom shop without.

 

We love our vintage guitars here, and so whilst we love to recreate that sought after vintage look, feel and tone, whether it be closet clean or worn to give that 50 year vibe, we also appreciate that the more modern appointments are often a common preference of our customers.

 

Whilst our work is inspired by the timeless classics of guitar design, today, many have the unfortunate misconception that the 'Big Hitters' of the guitar world, and their custom shops have boxes of magic dust that makes their work just that much better.

We pride ourselves on our craftsmanship and believe that we are a true custom shop by nature, comparable to that of the aforementioned Custom Shops themselves, but without the mind blowing price tags.

 

Our luthiers exclusively use the finest grade American and exotic tonewoods available for our bodies and necks.

Our bodies are mostly requested as two piece with an offset join however we do occasionally handle some spectacular single pieces.

 

We love to use good old Fender USA, kluson, Gibson USA, Schaller & Bigsby hardware however we've also spotted a few incredible, lesser known pieces here and there, that perfect the job they were concieved for.

 

We take pride in our UK craftsmanship and as such, love to use Bare Knuckle and Fat Boy Pickups, who as I am sure you are well aware, produce some of the finest hand wound pickups here in the UK. We do however consider all available pickup manufacturers, should a particular instrument require it.

 

All of our work is hand wired, point-to-point, using the finest components and we finish all of our pieces by hand.
